“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17). This is a powerful reminder that God is the ultimate protector of those who serve Him. The reference to “every tongue” highlights that harmful accusations, criticism, or false judgments can be overcome through God's justice and truth.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21). Our words have significant influence and can either build others up or harm them. God’s choice of the words “death and life” illustrates the far-reaching consequences of what we speak.

“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease... Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:1, 8). Jesus delegated authority to His disciples to minister in His name and we’ve been given the same authority. As God’s living epistles, we demonstrate His love when we serve others and show the same compassion as Christ did.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19). People are always watching us, which means we are living epistles of the gospel. This provides us with a foundation for responsible stewardship of our bodies and our conduct.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Being “in Christ” describes a transformed relationship with God through faith. Only the power of God can bring lasting change to a person's identity and purpose.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me” (Psalm 51:10, 11). The word “create” suggests a work that only God can accomplish, not merely self-improvement. Thankfully, the finished works of Jesus have already created renewal and clean hearts in us; He has also promised never to cast us away.

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full” (John 16:23, 24). God invites us into a new level of relationship with Him through Christ Jesus, where we can confidently pray in His name. Prayer is meant to produce fullness of joy, not uncertainty.

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer” (Psalm 19:14). There’s a connection between what we say and what we think; both should align with God’s standards. We’re called to live with intentional purity, acknowledging God as both our source of strength and our salvation.

“Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation” (Psalm 5:1). This shows us a personal and intimate invitation to God, where we’re encouraged to bring not just spoken words but even our inner thoughts before Him. It’s a reminder to us that prayer isn’t limited to formal speech—our quiet reflections matter as well.

“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile” (Romans 1:16, NLT). The “Good News” is described as the power of God at work, meaning it actively transforms lives rather than being merely informational. Paul boldly declared he was “not ashamed,” suggesting that believers should stand confidently in their faith despite opposition or cultural pressure.
