“Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work” (John 4:34, AMPC). Just as food satisfies physical hunger, doing the Father’s will satisfied Jesus spiritually and gave purpose to His life. The takeaway is that obedience to God shouldn’t be viewed as a burden but as a source of fulfillment and strength.

“So that he can no longer spend the rest of his natural life living by [his] human appetites and desires, but [he lives] for what God wills” (1 Peter 4:2, AMPC). A dramatic shift takes place in us when we choose to follow Christ. Instead of being driven by our natural desires, emotions, and impulses, we begin living with a desire to fulfill God’s purposes instead.

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2). Lasting transformation begins with the way we think. The world constantly pressures us to adopt its beliefs, values, and ways of operating, but God’s Word calls us to think differently.

“When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God” (Romans 6:10, NLT). Continually exposing ourselves to God’s Word and His grace begins breaking down and dissolving old patterns of fear, condemnation, and self-reliance. A renewed mind allows us to see ourselves the way God sees us and recognize His will more clearly.

“So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image” (2 Corinthians 3:18, NLT). Spiritual transformation isn’t something we achieve through hard work or religious performance. As we keep our attention on Jesus and maintain an unhindered relationship with Him, His life begins to influence every area of our lives.
- November 3
“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). Persecution and resistance shouldn’t surprise believers. Faithfulness often brings challenges, but those challenges can become opportunities for us to demonstrate our endurance and trust in God.
- November 2
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Christianity doesn’t promise a problem-free life. However, Christ gives us inner peace and confidence to tackle anything in life; because He won, we can, too.

“So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever” (2 Corinthians 4:18, NLT). Present troubles are temporary, but God’s promises and future glory are everlasting. Faith has the long-term, eternal vision to look beyond what is immediately seen.

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46:10). In a world of turmoil and uncertainty, peace comes from acknowledging God’s sovereignty. Trust replaces panic when believers remember who’s in control.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised” (Luke 4:18). Jesus was the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy; His mission was to bring freedom, healing, hope, and transformation. Jesus came to teach truth, set people free spiritually, and restore what sin has damaged; His plan is to work through us to accomplish this.

“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” (Ephesians 1:18).
Letting the Holy Spirit minister to us opens our spiritual eyes and ears to what God planned for us since before the beginning of time. He called each of us to complete a particular task for the glory of His kingdom; this calling gives us hope and joy. God richly equips us to get the job done and sets aside a glorious inheritance for us.

“For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]” (Ephesians 1:5, AMPC).
Christians are no ordinary mortals, but children of God; this makes us brothers and sisters with Jesus, which is an amazing blessing. We can’t help but rejoice and give thanks when we meditate on the knowledge that we have a divine inheritance as members of God’s own family.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” (1 Peter 5:8, 9, NKJV).
The enemy is always looking for a way into our lives, to see if he can pounce and devour us like a lion takes down its prey; all believers face this same type of spiritual danger. Thankfully, God’s Word is stronger than our adversary.

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24).
Grace is God’s unearned, unmerited, undeserved favor toward us; it’s also Jesus, who is grace packaged in human form. Accepting Grace, and what He did for us on the cross, saves us from sin and puts us in right-standing in God’s eyes.

“Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen [you] and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil [one]” (2 Thessalonians 3:3, AMPC).
We can lean on God for strength and safety when we feel weak and vulnerable. When everyone else scatters and runs in fear, He’ll stand with us and remain faithful; trusting Him keeps us safe.

“My God, my Rock, in Him will I take refuge; my Shield and the Horn of my salvation; my Stronghold and my Refuge, my Savior—You save me from violence. I call on the Lord, Who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies” (2 Samuel 22:3, 4, AMPC).
This is an example of one of the promises we have from God for protection against violence and attacks of any kind. Peace, safety, security, stability, and deliverance are all from the Lord; we can rest easy when we take refuge in Him.

“The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:14, 24).
Trusting God enough to depend on His strength on a daily basis puts a joyful song in our hearts that wasn’t there before. Jesus has delivered us from death and given us eternal, abundant life. Every day is a gift from God; He wants us to live each one in joy and happiness.

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17).
We can depend on God to keep us and our loved ones safe from evil and violence because He gives us a supernatural source of protection. The Bible is full of joyful promises that He makes to His people.

“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” (Psalm 118:6).
This Scripture reminds us that there’s no reason to fear any situation in life or what anyone could try to do to harm us. Knowing that the creator, Himself, is on our side and His favor is on us allows us to operate from a place of victory.
