- September 23
“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:21, NLT). Jesus took upon Himself what belonged to us so that we could receive what belongs to Him—right standing with God. Our righteousness isn’t based on our performance but on our union with Christ.

“And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death” (Exodus 19:12). The Mosaic Law resulted in awe of God but also a strictly enforced distance from Him. In contrast, through Jesus Christ, believers now have confident access to God because His finished works removed the barrier that once separated humanity from Him.

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed” (Romans 13:11). Time has a spiritual urgency, and believers must live with a sense of expectation. Every day brings us closer to the full realization of our salvation; therefore, complacency has no place in the life of faith.

“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). Repentance is more than feeling sorry for sin—it’s a change of mind that leads us to place our trust in Christ. When our thinking changes, our lives begin to reflect the reality of God’s kingdom.

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death” (Romans 8:1, 2, NLT). The freedom that God’s grace offers us isn’t something we strive to earn, but something we receive by faith. Living with this understanding empowers us to walk boldly in the liberty Christ has provided.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” (Romans 12:2, NLT). God changes our lives by first changing the way we think, enabling us to reject the world's patterns and embrace His truth. Aligning our thinking with His Word better equips us to recognize His will and experience the peace and wisdom that come from walking in it.

“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes” (Ephesians 1:4, NLT). God's plan for our lives began long before we were ever born. He chose us in Christ based on His love and grace, not on our works or qualifications.

“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while” (1 Peter 1 6, NLT). Life brings us more than our share of trials; suffering doesn’t negate God's promises but becomes part of the process through which faith is strengthened and refined. We can endure hardships with confidence because our ultimate hope rests in God's eternal salvation.

“God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant” (Romans 5:20, NLT). This highlights both the seriousness of sin and the surpassing greatness of God's mercy. Instead of leaving us condemned because of our sins, He responds to our need with an overflowing supply of grace through Jesus Christ.

“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work” (Romans 11:6). There’s a clear distinction between grace and works that we must understand if we’re to avoid being deceived. Salvation is a gift that can’t be earned or deserved; if human effort contributed to salvation, grace would cease to be grace.

“I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed” (Isaiah 50:6, 7).
Jesus hated shame so much He became shame itself so we would not have to suffer from the pain of it. When He was crucified, shame was nailed to the cross and died so that we would not have to carry it.

“For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12).
When we trust God enough to believe what He tells us in the Bible, we position ourselves to receive His favor. He will shower down blessings like never before and surround us with supernatural protection.

In these end times, those who believe God’s promises will experience His favor in greater measure than ever before. The pouring out of His grace on His anointed will be plainly obvious to the world.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage” (Galatians 5:1).
Through Jesus, God has freed us from the law-based mindset that kept gender relationships in bondage before the cross. Now that we know the truth about God’s intentions for relationship equality between men and women, we must not let religion put us back into bondage.

“Estad pues, firmes en la libertad con que Cristo nos hizo libres, y no estéis otra vez sujetos al yugo de esclavitud” (Gálatas 5:1).
A través de Jesús, Dios nos ha librado de la ley basado a las relaciones de género. Ahora que sabemos la verdad sobre las intenciones de Dios para la igualdad entre el hombre y la mujer no debemos permitir que la religión nos vuelva a poner en esclavitud.

Cuando sabemos que Dios ha perdonado nuestros pecados, podemos perdonarnos. Esto nos libera de toda condenación, culpa, y la conciencia y muerte spiritual.

“But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter” (Romans 7:6, NKJV).
When we know that God has forgiven us of our sins, we can forgive ourselves. This frees us from condemnation, guilt, and the law of sin-consciousness and spiritual death.
