- March 20
“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:5). God knows what’s in our hearts, and the things we want most out of life. Asking for His guidance and trusting Him in everything we do lets Him bring us success.
- March 19
“They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed” (Psalm 34:5). Shame is a weapon the devil uses against us, but Jesus went to the cross on our behalf so that we never have to be ashamed of anything. When we focus on Him, He takes this burden from us, and our heavy spirits are lightened.

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17). This promise covers not just physical weapons, but also words spoken against us. When we walk humbly as God’s children and obey Him, those who speak evil of us will have their own words come back to them.

“The reward of humility and the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life” (Proverbs 22:4, AMPC). God has an abundant, richly rewarding life for us that we can accept by submitting ourselves to Him. The world doesn’t understand this concept of godly humility, and many people mistake it for pride and self-effort when they see the manifestations of it in our lives.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). Although part of being a Christian is learning godly humility, another part is about letting the Holy Spirit make us bold. When we understand God’s promises to us, we’re not afraid to come into His presence and accept His help in our lives.

“There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD” (Proverbs 21:30). The wisdom and counsel of the world often contradict the Word of God, but He’s the only dependable, unchanging truth we have. Wise individuals seek understanding from Him, and no other source.
- March 14
“Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles” (Proverbs 21:23). Words are powerful, and we can create problems for ourselves simply by what we say. To stay out of trouble, it’s wise to think first before we open our mouths.
- March 13
“The tongue of the wise utters knowledge rightly, but the mouth of the [self-confident] fool pours out folly” (Proverbs 15:2, AMPC). Our words can betray us if we speak carelessly. What’s in our hearts and minds comes out in what we say; therefore, our speech often reveals whether we place our confidence in ourselves, or in God.
- March 12
“When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom” (Proverbs 11:2, NKJV). Pride interferes with our relationship with God and leaves us open to shame. Agreeing with what He says in His Word and the promises He makes to us is true humility in action, and it displays godly wisdom.

“O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause... O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee” (Psalm 25:2, 3, 20). The devil tries to use shame against us to hold us back from fulfilling God’s mission. Although those who disobey the Word can fall prey to shame’s destructive forces, our trust in God defeats this spiritual weapon.

“For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better” (Philippians 1:21, NLT).
Believers don’t have to fear death, because it allows us to slip out of the stream of time and go home to be with the Lord. A relationship with God lets us put on our spiritual body when we get to heaven.
July 19
“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death… So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?... But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:26, 54, 55, 57).
The Bible portrays death as an enemy. However, Jesus forever conquered that enemy when He rose from the grave and ascended into heaven.
July 18
“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22, NKJV).
The world still lives under the sin brought onto mankind. Thankfully, faith in Christ and in His resurrection brings us out from sin and gives us eternal life.
July 17
“These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep” (John 11:11).
Although we’ll all die physically one day, physical death isn’t the end. We’re spirits living in physical bodies, which are our temporary houses; when we leave this earth, we’ll transition to eternal life with Jesus Christ.
July 16
“Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15, NLT).
Believers have been given authority over their emotions, but that doesn’t mean not to feel anything. Just like Jesus, we can wholeheartedly join in others’ joyful celebrations and mourn with those who mourn the passing of a loved one.
July 15
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died” (1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14, NLT).
It’s always painful when a loved one dies, but unlike the world, born-again believers have hope beyond the pain. Jesus was resurrected from the dead for eternal life in heaven; therefore, we have the same thing to look forward to.
July 14
“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth” (Revelation 3:15, 16).
For the results we want in life, we can’t be lukewarm, mixing old, law-based thinking with a new, grace-based mindset. Many churches still do this, but it displeases God.
July 13
“No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles” (Mark 2:21, 22).
Grace and the law must be kept completely separate. Trying to mix a little bit of law-based thinking into a grace-based lifestyle cancels out any results we want to experience.
July 12
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1, NLT).
